Yesterday we held our 2025 Open Day as part of the national Big Bowls Weekend. We opened the Club to visitors, members and their families and invited them to try some light hearted “fun” games, mostly involving bowls and obstacles of some kind. If they were a bit more serious they could move on to the Big Green and try their hand at “proper” bowling.
More than 30 people turned up and we made them welcome with free hot drinks for the grown-ups and squash for the kids. We also had a selection of food and cakes for sale. As far as I could tell, everyone who came along enjoyed themselves and we hope we will gain a few more members as a result.
