We are hosting 2 County bowling events in June. These are a Junior County Match on Sunday 9th June at 2pm and a Veterans Interleague on Saturday 15th June from 10:00am. We need help with people making and providing refreshments and also with help on the day selling and serving. Please contact Ann Mitchell for details and to see what is required. Sunshine Cup 2024
Sunshine Cup? – Well not a lot of sunshine, but despite yet another awful weather forecast we managed to squeeze in some enjoyable bowling.
Before we started bowling we had a “grand plaque unveiling” on the Big Green. The Club had decided to honour John Mitchell for his MANY years of dedicated service to and work for the Club by naming the shelter on the big green after him and John got to pull off the cover with a bit of help from wife Ann.
Then, after a draw-for-partners, the bowling got underway with the usual round robin tournament followed by a Final. Sixteen bowlers turned up to play and were divided into 2 groups of 4 pairs with each pair playing every other pair in their group. The group winners then played each other in the Final.
Everyone enjoyed a good lunch with food brought and donated by the bowlers.
Thanks to everyone involved in organising the day and especially to the bowlers taking part.

BCGBA Bowlers survey
The British Crown Green Bowling Association is inviting all bowlers to complete a survey they have designed to help influence the future direction of the administration of our sport. It is only available until the end of May and may be accessed through the link below. Please note: It may only work if you have a google email account and it may not work on a phone. 
Alternatively you can download it, fill it in, save it as a pdf and then email it to region5@bcgba.org.uk. Yes I KNOW it’s a lot of work, 
but worth it to get your voice heard. This is the first in a series of surveys.
Sunshine Cup 2024
This year’s Sunshine Cup is being held on Sunday 26th May at the Club. So let’s hope for some of that sunshine.
It will be a mixed doubles draw for partners. Registration at 9:45 with the draw soon after, hoping for a 10:15am start. The cost is £10 per person to include lunch and tea or coffee. Non-bowlers can have lunch and refreshments for £5.
There is a sign-up sheet on the club notice board. Please add your name as soon as possible so that we can plan the catering (and the bowling). We would appreciate donations of food too. (There may even be a sign-up sheet for that too). If you need any more information please contact Bob Charlesworth.
